NatureHolic Fanfeed, a biologically valuable complete food for fan shrimp , is a finely ground powder specifically formulated for fan shrimp. It contains insects, valuable spirulina, and salmon oil as sources of natural astaxanthin, high-quality proteins, and essential unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids – as well as our special blend of highly bioavailable minerals from organic sources. Fanfeed is guaranteed free of fishmeal and other low-quality animal meal .
These highly specialized fan shrimp live in the wild in sections of rivers with strong currents, where they use their powerful, spiny legs to cling to pebbles and their fan-like front legs to collect food drifting by. Stomach analyses of wild fan shrimp have shown that they consume an exceptionally protein-rich and energy-dense diet . This food takes that into account. The unusually high fat content of over 9% in NatureHolic Fan Feed is also tailored to the enormous energy requirements of these current-loving shrimp.
The proteins in this product come from insects, plant sources, and blue-green algae. Thanks to the insects it contains, Fächerfeed provides nutritionally beneficial chitin, which supports shrimp during the molting process and also naturally contains the molting and growth hormone ecdysone. We use high-quality yeasts that naturally contain essential minerals, vitamins, and proteins. Spirulina contributes valuable protein as well as natural vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals , especially the natural carotenoid astaxanthin.
As with our other feeds, we use a special blend of trace elements from organic sources and essential vitamins in our Fanfeed. To specifically prevent deficiencies, we’ve included our vitamin mix : Vitamin D3 for the shrimp’s calcium metabolism, providing crucial support during molting; Vitamin A for the development of the subcutaneous tissue and eggs, supporting the immune system, and especially as an antioxidant to protect against reactive molecules and bacteria; and Vitamin C, which is also an important antioxidant and essential for smooth molting.
Our proven mineral mix contains iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), and manganese (Mn) , which are trace elements required by shrimp for the production of numerous important enzymes , thus ensuring smooth molting. Trace elements are also necessary for the production of various hormones , such as the growth hormone ecdysone, and for protein synthesis, thereby supporting normal shrimp growth .
We recommend including our Mineralfeed mineral supplement in your fan shrimp’s feeding plan twice a week for targeted mineral supply.
Feeding recommendation : Feed 1-2 times daily, as much as the animals can consume in a few minutes. Feed sparingly.
