Crayfish Feed

Freshwater crayfish have a very diverse diet in the wild. Natureholic Crayfish Feed Sticks contain, in a biologically balanced form, only those components that these crayfish, in this or a similar form, consider part of their natural diet. This naturally supports and promotes molting, growth, and reproduction. Due to their protein content, they are ideally suited for omnivorous crayfish of the genera Procambarus, Cambarus, Cambarellus, Astacus, and the Cherax crayfish from Australia, which are essentially omnivores that readily consume both animal and plant matter. The Cherax crayfish from Papua also readily consume some animal matter when young , later switching primarily to a plant-based diet.

We consciously avoid using inferior animal meal and fishmeal. By processing insects and crustaceans , our crayfish feed naturally contains not only high-quality protein, but also nutritionally beneficial chitin , which supports crayfish in shell formation, as well as the molting and growth hormone ecdysone , which can be beneficial during the molting process. This provides the crayfish with everything they need for healthy growth and successful reproduction. Furthermore, we have selected a special blend of trace elements and vitamins for Natureholic crayfish feed , containing particularly bioavailable mineral compounds of organic origin.

To specifically prevent deficiencies, we have incorporated our vitamin mix : Vitamin D3 to support calcium metabolism during molting, Vitamin A for the formation of the subcutaneous tissue and eggs as well as to support the immune system, and Vitamin C as an important antioxidant and to promote smooth molting.

Our proven mineral mix contains iron (Fe), zinc (Zn) and manganese (Mn) . These trace elements are needed for the formation of numerous enzymes and support normal molting and the growth of crayfish.

Birch leaves provide the necessary amount of foliage that crayfish rely on in nature. Arctic krill supplies high-quality protein and chitin , and naturally contains astaxanthin . Salmon oil supplements the feed with valuable omega-3 fatty acids .

The approximately 10 mm long, water-resistant sticks are easy to grip and nibble. This results in less abrasion, which in turn leads to less water pollution .

Feeding recommendation: Feed 1-2 times daily, giving only as much as the animals can consume in a few minutes. Generally, 1-3 sticks per crayfish are sufficient, depending on their size.
