If animals from both Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika are kept in the same aquarium, it is advisable to adjust the water values to those of Lake Tanganyika. Hint: The values in the table are based on formulas and serve as reference values only. In practice, many chemical and biological processes occur in the aquarium that can use up part to the added salts. It is therefore sensible to check the carbonate hardness again after 2 days and add as required.
