With the chloride-reduced special salt NatureHolic GH+ Salt, you can increase the total hardness in your aquarium. This mineral salt is suitable for remineralizing reverse osmosis water, distilled water, demineralized water from a deionizer, or rainwater for your aquarium. NatureHolic GH+ Salt contains no potassium to prevent excessive potassium buildup in the aquarium.
NatureHolic GH+ Salt is ideal for fish and invertebrates from soft water biotopes, but it is also suitable for precisely adjusting water hardness in aquariums when used in combination with our NatureHolic Saltea KH+ Salt (please order separately). This allows you to achieve virtually all water parameters in your aquarium with regard to total hardness and carbonate hardness.
Many invertebrates, and especially freshwater plants, are demonstrably sensitive to chloride ions. Many conventional aquarium remineralizing salts contain significant amounts of sodium chloride – which can be seen, for example, in the increased occurrence of algae such as the red alga Thorea ramosissima in soft water aquariums. This algae is actually only found in brackish water and can indicate the presence of chloride. To avoid this problem, we deliberately avoided chloride wherever possible in the formulation of NatureHolic Saltea Caridina – NatureHolic Saltea GH+ remineralizing salt contains up to 80% less chloride than competing products.
Our NatureHolic Salt GH+ enriches the water with essential minerals and trace elements, making it more natural and suitable for a typical aquarium habitat. This remineralizing salt is not only beneficial for fish, shrimp, and snails, but also for aquarium plants – thanks to its ideal 2:1 calcium-magnesium ratio, which promotes optimal plant growth. With its significantly reduced chloride content, this remineralizing salt is particularly well-suited for planted aquariums.
Instructions for use: Stir the chloride-reduced remineralizing salt into the fresh water for water changes outside of the aquarium. Add any undissolved particles back into the aquarium. Close the container tightly after each use.
| Function: | Chloride-reduced remineralizing salt for reverse osmosis water, water from demineralizers, filtered rainwater and other soft water. |
| Purpose: | It only increases the total hardness (GH) of the aquarium water. |
| Calcium-magnesium ratio: | 2 : 1 |
| Dosage: | 10 g per 100 l increases the total hardness by 3.8 °dGH. One level teaspoon corresponds to approximately 5 g. |
| Optimal target values for total hardness: | Depending on the stocking level; guideline values approx. 5-15 °dGH, conductivity approx. 400 +/- 50 µS/cm |
