Axolotl Baby Feed – Young Axolotl Soft Food

NatureHolic Axolotl Babyfeed has been specially formulated to meet the needs of juvenile axolotls transitioning  from the initially necessary live food . To achieve this, we delved into scientific studies and researched the optimal protein content for growing axolotls , how well different protein sources are digested by young axolotls, the impact of probiotics on their health and development, and, of course, which oils are best for the little axolotls. Furthermore, we tested the Axolotl Babyfeed in our own axolotl breeding program and continuously optimized it. 

Initially , baby axolotls rely on live food because only moving prey can trigger their snapping reflex. Over time, however, the little axolotls can learn to accept stationary food as well. You can start feeding this baby axolotl food to your young axolotls once they reach a body length of 8 to 10 cm . Simply add a food pellet whenever you feed live food; the little axolotls will gradually learn to eat the tasty soft pellets . We recommend a dosage of one pellet per animal, ideally feeding your baby axolotls with tweezers. 

If the food is incorrectly formulated, juvenile axolotls are at risk of digestive problems, even complete intestinal obstruction. Many commercially available dry foods are far too hard for the delicate mouths of these amphibians and cause micro-injuries when chewed. All too often, axolotl food contains too many plant-based ingredients and cheap fillers, which can cause serious digestive problems for your precious axolotls. However, feeding live food isn’t always ideal for raising axolotls either – it always depends on how the live food was fed and under what conditions it was kept. Live food can be too contaminated for axolotls, contain too few nutrients for growing axolotls, and unfortunately, also far too few trace elements and vitamins.

The soft food pellets in Natureholic’s Axolotl Baby Feed are readily accepted because they can be easily swallowed without risk of injury , and their fine texture provides a feeding experience similar to that in nature. Axolotl Baby Feed protects the sensitive mouth and soft throat of juvenile axolotls from micro-injuries during swallowing. The exceptionally high digestibility of Natureholic Axolotl Baby Feed contributes to maintaining water quality, as no undigested food is excreted and pollutes the water in the axolotl aquarium.

For our s often NatureHolic Axolotl Babyfeed Pellets, we based them on the natural diet of juvenile axolotls, incorporating only animal proteins from insects and aquatic animals , which are particularly easy for young axolotls to digest . The low-temperature fishmeal we use is produced using a special, gentle manufacturing process, making it exceptionally digestible. This LT fishmeal therefore carries the LT71 label. It boasts a protein content of over 70% , a very favorable amino acid profile, and, thanks to the special treatment, a digestibility of 94 to 96%. This makes LT fishmeal an excellent choice for axolotls of all ages.  Its digestibility and reduction in waste volume are far superior to those of conventional fishmeal. With a small amount of high-quality Chlorella algae, we simulate the intestinal contents of the axolotl’s predominantly herbivorous prey in nature, while simultaneously providing the young axolotls with essential fiber, vitamins, natural minerals, and trace elements. 

We have also added prebiotic mannan-oligosaccharides and beta-glucans, which are highly bioavailable, to NatureHolic Axolotl Baby Feed . These substances can protect the sensitive intestinal wall and support the important gut flora.
